Berry is the profile with the best bag appeal on the menu. Blueberry, grape, blackberry, dark cherry, usually wrapped in purple and deep green bud with heavy trichome coverage. It reads jammy rather than bright, closer to preserves than to fresh fruit, and it smokes as rich as it looks.
Myrcene is why. It is the most common terpene in cannabis and the one most associated with body-heavy, indica-leaning effects, and berry cuts tend to run high on it. The purple color, worth saying plainly, comes from anthocyanins responding to genetics and temperature, not from the flavor. Purple bud is not automatically berry-flavored, but on this menu the two show up together more often than not.

The Terps Behind It
Flavor is terpene chemistry. These are the compounds doing the work in a berry-forward profile, and the ones to look for when you read a COA.
The heavy base. Earthy, musky, ripe fruit. Myrcene is the most abundant terpene in cannabis and the one behind the classic body-weighted feel. It is what makes berry a sit-down category.
The spice underneath. Pepper and clove sitting beneath the jam, keeping the sweetness structured and adding the body-relief note that CB2 binding produces.
The floral seam. Most berry cuts carry a linalool layer that softens the dark fruit and pushes the profile further toward the calm end. It is why berry and floral overlap so often.
In Practice
Jammy and dark. Blueberry preserves, dark grape, black cherry. Sweet but deeper and less sharp than the sugar-forward cuts.
Rich and rounded. Berry cuts smoke fuller than citrus, with a sweet finish and a heavier mouthfeel. Grind fine and take it slow.
Body-forward and weighted. High myrcene means this is a category you settle into. Plan the evening around it rather than through it.

A combination of myrcene as the base and trace terpenes layering the specific fruit note on top. Myrcene itself reads as ripe and musky, close to mango. The blueberry, grape, and cherry specificity comes from smaller contributors including ocimene, geraniol, and a set of esters that standard terpene panels do not report.
No, though they overlap constantly. Purple color comes from anthocyanin pigments expressed through genetics and cool late-flower temperatures, and it has no direct link to flavor. Plenty of purple cuts taste like gas. The two just happen to co-occur often because the same genetic families carry both traits.
Most berry-forward cuts lean indica or indica-dominant hybrid, because the myrcene that anchors the profile is also what produces the heavy body feel. Blackberry Champagne is a balanced hybrid and an exception. As always the terpene profile is more reliable than the category label.
Myrcene. It is the terpene most associated with sedating, body-weighted effects, and berry profiles tend to run high on it while citrus profiles run high on limonene and pinene instead. Same THC, different terpene structure, very different experience.
Anything myrcene-led. Glitter Bomb and Grape Dosi are the heaviest of the berry cuts on our menu and both sit firmly in after-dinner territory. If you want berry flavor with less weight, Blackberry Champagne runs more balanced.
