Gas is the smell people mean when they say a bag is loud. Diesel, solvent, struck match, a little rubber. It reads sharp and chemical up front, then settles into something rounder and funkier underneath. Old-school OG and Chem lineage put this profile on the map and it has never really left.
The gas note is not one compound. It is caryophyllene bringing the pepper and bite, myrcene bringing the heavy earthy base, and a set of sulfur compounds doing the work that terpenes get credit for. Those sulfur volatiles are the actual source of that skunk-and-fuel sting, and they are why gas strains hit your nose before they hit your tongue.

The pepper and the bite. The only terpene that binds CB2 directly, which is why gas strains land body-first instead of racing in the head. It is the backbone of nearly every fuel-forward cut on the menu.
The heavy base note. Earthy, musky, slightly ripe. Myrcene is what turns sharp diesel into something rounded and weighted, and it is the reason this category leans toward the back half of the day.
